Bavaria Yachtbau has built and sold 120 B/one sports boats since the beginning of 2012, and the one-off class is growing. For the new 2014 season, the project managers in Giebelstadt have now revisited the equipment standard of the racer designed by Bruce Farr (test in YACHT 15/2012) and upgraded and improved it in many details.

The fittings on deck now come from the manufacturer Harken, while Liros supplies the complete set of sheets, halyards and trim lines. The blocks for deflecting the jib and gennaker have been made larger, which reduces the sheet pull and makes manoeuvring easier.

Work has also been done on the rig. The forestay, now made of Dyform, can be loaded more heavily and allows more tension on the rig, which is important for a boat without a backstay. In addition, all halyard pulleys in the mast are now ball-bearing mounted, making it easier to set the gennaker. And a new jib furler, now also ball-bearing mounted, ensures that the headsail furls away faster and with less effort.

The lifting keel is now guided in high-quality and more stable press-fit keel bearings. This means that the fin no longer has any play and sits securely. The suspension of the rudder head and the tiller have also been optimised. The cockpit now also has two hanging harnesses for the helmsman. This should make the B/one even sportier to sail.

In addition, the B/one class rules now also allow a free choice of sail brand. In addition to the previous standard sails from Hyde, North Sails and Quantum Sails now also have corresponding packages in their range.

The price for a B/one is 24,990 euros (incl. VAT, without trailer and without sails).
